En Creux Trilogy

Archive film + contemporary electronic noise

In 2025 I produced three short films combining footage from the British Council Film Archive with music by experimental no-input noise artist Lucia H Chung (aka ‘en creux‘).

Work

Digital video 5 minutes 30 seconds. Busy busy. British activity in the 1940s – steelworks, mining, glass & plastic, exercise, dancing, brass bands and scientific discovery – was just so intense. If time didn’t exist, all of our movement would get caught onto itself. Bodies and objects densely crushed like rock. Music: Circumference

  • Screened at Bobienalle Festival and Neuland Gallery, Bochum

Pin Mould

Digital video 3 minutes 13 seconds. The violent sound of nature. A short short which became part of Snowdonia. Music: AUX2(U+3).

Snowdonia

Digital video 7 minutes 8 seconds. A journey into a mountain wilderness generates a form of breakdown and new growth. Music: Inner Geography.

BONUS TRACK: Golden Landmark

Digital video 5 minutes 5 seconds.
Singapore’s iconic 1980s shopping centre Golden Landmark shimmers to music by Anne Gillis + XT. And then we are back at the zoo again.
